2026 Tono Pool Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Tono Pool (東野プール) in Osakikamijima Town (大崎上島町), Toyota District, Hiroshima Prefecture, open to the public from Tuesday, July 21 to Monday, August 31, 2026. Osakikamijima, an island floating in the Seto Inland Sea, has no bridge to the mainland and can only be reached by ferry. That makes time pass more slowly, and simply being on the island lets you unwind. In the morning, head to the observation deck on Mt. Kannomine (神峰山), the island's highest peak. From the 452m summit, you can take in the large and small islands of the Seto Inland Sea and the boats moving between them, and truly feel what the phrase beauty of scattered islands means. Next, visit the Sea and Island History Museum (Omochizuki Residence) (海と島の歴史資料館(大望月邸)) in Kie (木江). Step inside a building that conveys the life of Kie in the days when shipbuilding and maritime trade thrived, and get a feel for the island's history. In the afternoon, splash around at Tono Pool alongside local island children. It's a quiet, luxurious summer day reached by ferry.
