2026 Nagoya City Atsuta Pool: A Full One-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Nagoya City Atsuta Pool (名古屋市熱田プール) in Atsuta Ward, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, open from Monday, July 20 to Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00 to 17:30. This outdoor cold-water pool inside Jingu Higashi Park has seven 25-meter lanes for practice swimming plus a 170-square-meter children's pool. Admission is affordable at 300 yen for adults, 100 yen for children, and 100 yen for city residents aged 65 and over, with an 11-ticket coupon book that makes repeat summer visits even more economical. In the morning, visit Atsuta Shrine (熱田神宮), home to the sacred sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, one of the Three Sacred Treasures of Japan, and walk through the deep forest of this shrine with over 1,900 years of history, unexpectedly lush for an urban setting. Next, take a leisurely look at Shirotori Garden (白鳥庭園), a renowned Japanese garden depicting the flow of the Kiso Three Rivers. After lunch, spend the afternoon at Atsuta Pool. Please note the pool is closed on July 22, 27 and August 3, 17, 24. A cool summer day spent in the historic heart of Nagoya.
