2026 Kashiwazaki City Minato Park Pool: A Full One-Day Course
This is a one-day course centered on Kashiwazaki City Minato Park Pool (柏崎市港公園プール) in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture, open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Friday, July 24 to Thursday, August 20, 2026, with no closing days during the period. It's an outdoor pool inside Minato Park facing the Sea of Japan, with a 25-meter pool and a children's pool. Being open every day during the period is a big help, letting you decide your schedule based on the weather. In the morning, visit Bangondo Hall (番神堂), built on a site associated with Nichiren Shonin, and enjoy the hall decorated with intricate carvings along with the view of the Sea of Japan. Next, at the Kashiwazaki City Museum (柏崎市立博物館), learn about the region's history and nature, take in the starry sky at the planetarium, and rest your body in the cool building. Around lunchtime, head to Kashiwazaki City Minato Park Pool in the afternoon. Located where the breeze from the Sea of Japan blows through, you can enjoy water play until evening. Note, however, that on July 26 the pool closes at 3 p.m. due to traffic restrictions for the Gion Kashiwazaki Festival Sea Fireworks Display. A summer day true to Kashiwazaki, a town of the sea.
