2026 Mitaka City Iguchi Community Center Outdoor Pool Full-Day Course
This is a one-day course centered on the Mitaka City Iguchi Community Center Outdoor Pool (三鷹市 井口コミュニティ・センター 屋外プール) in Mitaka City, Tokyo, open from Saturday, July 18 to Saturday, August 22, 2026. It's a 25-meter by 10.5-meter outdoor pool on the rooftop (3rd floor) of the Community Center's main building, with a water depth ranging from 1.3 meters at the near end to 1.1 meters at the far end. Swimming while looking up at the sky from a rooftop offers a refreshing feeling unique to a pool in the middle of the city. Admission is surprisingly affordable: 50 yen for elementary and junior high school students, 200 yen for high school students and up, and free for young children, for stays of up to 2 hours. In the morning, enjoy a stroll surrounded by a pond and wooded grove at Inokashira Onshi Park, then head to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, Mitaka Campus. Walk through a quiet and mysterious space where observatory buildings built in the Taisho era are scattered among the greenery. After lunch, spend the afternoon at the rooftop pool. Please note that the pool is closed on Thursdays and public holidays (July 20 and August 11), as well as August 14 and 15. A calm and relaxing day in Mitaka.
