2026 Yabata Pool Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course centered on Yabata Pool (谷端プール), inside Minami-Yabata Park (南谷端公園) in Kita City, Tokyo, which is open from Wednesday, July 29 to Monday, August 31, 2026. Due to equipment trouble, the opening was postponed from its original schedule, but it will still be fully open as a water-play spot for the latter half of summer vacation. Admission is reasonably priced: 200 yen for adults (high-school age and up), 100 yen for children (junior-high age and under), and 100 yen for those aged 65 and over or with disabilities. In the morning, first visit the Former Furukawa Gardens (旧古河庭園). It's a rare combination of a Western-style mansion and garden with a Japanese garden spreading out below, and the tree-lined paths stay cool even in midsummer. Next, move to Asukayama Park (飛鳥山公園), learn about local history at the Kita City Asukayama Museum (北区飛鳥山博物館), and try riding the small monorail that runs through the park, the Asuka Park Rail (あすかパークレール). Once past noon, head to Yabata Pool (谷端プール) and spend the latter half of the summer-vacation afternoon amid the splashing water.
