2026 Full-Day Course: Yatsushiro City Kagami Pool
This is a one-day course centered on 'Yatsushiro City Kagami Pool' (八代市鏡プール), located within Kagami General Athletic Ground in Yatsushiro City. In 2026, it's open from Monday, July 20 to Monday, August 31, and closed from September 1 through July 19 of the following year. The water area consists of a 25m x 15m, 7-lane pool (depth 0.9-1.1m) and a toddler pool with a slide (depth 0.3-0.6m). Older kids who want to swim can practice in the lanes, while little ones can play in the shallow slide pool. In the morning, first visit Yatsushiro Castle Ruins in the city center. The castle ruins, surrounded by white stone walls and a moat, are now maintained as a park, and the walls reflected on the water's surface look refreshingly cool. Next, visit the neighboring Yatsushiro Municipal Museum, Mirai no Mori Museum, and take your time viewing exhibits on Yatsushiro's history and culture in the air-conditioned building. After midday, move to Yatsushiro City Kagami Pool and enjoy water play until evening. Admission is affordable at 100 yen for adults and 50 yen for toddlers and elementary through high school students, making it easy on the family budget.
