2026 Suizenji Children's Park Kiddie Pool (水前寺児童公園 ちびっこプール): A Full Day of Fun

This is a one-day course in Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, centered on the Suizenji Children's Park Kiddie Pool (水前寺児童公園 ちびっこプール), open from Wednesday, July 22 to Sunday, August 30, 2026. The venue is the children's park within Suizenji Ezuko Park (水前寺江津湖公園). It's an outdoor pool for infants through early-elementary-age children, and admission is free. Because it uses 100% spring water, the water temperature runs low, keeping you nicely cool even in the height of summer. There are two types of slides, sized so even small children can ride them safely. In the morning, visit Suizenji Jokien Garden (水前寺成趣園), a Momoyama-style strolling garden with a beautifully arranged pond fed by Mt. Aso's spring water and a grassy hill said to resemble Mt. Fuji. Next, head to the Kumamoto City Zoo and Botanical Garden (熊本市動植物園), a combined zoo and botanical garden on the shore of Ezuko Lake (江津湖) that offers enough to fill a good half-day. A garden, animals, and a spring-fed pool - it's a day built entirely around the waters of Ezuko Lake. Note that the park is closed every Wednesday for facility inspection (except July 22 and August 12), so check before you go.
