2026 Oshima Park Pool: A Full-Day Course

This is a one-day course centered on Oshima Park Pool (大島公園プール) in Tsuruga City, open from July 21 (Tue) to August 26 (Wed), 2026. Its biggest draw is that admission is free, which is easy on the family budget. The pool has two depths, 30cm and 60cm, so even small children who can't swim yet can enjoy the water with the reassurance of being able to stand. It's open in two sessions, 10:00-12:00 in the morning and 13:00-16:00 in the afternoon, and this course is built around the afternoon session. In the morning, first head to Kehi no Matsubara (気比の松原), a scenic spot with a white sandy beach and a pine grove said to number 17,000 trees. Walking in the shade of the pines lets the sea breeze pass through pleasantly. Next, head to the Tsuruga Red Brick Warehouse (敦賀赤レンガ倉庫). Built in the Meiji era, this warehouse is now used for exhibitions and dining, and inside, an intricate railway and harbor diorama catches children's eyes. After lunch, move to the pool in time for the afternoon session and enjoy water play until closing. This course brings together the appeal of the port town of Tsuruga in a single day.
