2026 Tadami Town Pool: A Full Day of Fun
This one-day course centers on Tadami Town Pool (Tadami Town Public Plaza) in Fukushima Prefecture's Tadami Town, typically open from 10:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, Sundays, and holidays alike during Tadami Junior High School's summer break (late July to late August). It's an outdoor pool with a 6-lane 25m course, built for competitive swimming with a diving platform. Showers are available, but there are no lockers, training room, or air conditioning. The price is remarkably low: 30 yen per visit for junior high school students and younger, 50 yen for high school students, and 100 yen for adults. In the morning, visit the Tadami Museum of Beech Forests and Rivers (Tadami Town Beech Center), a facility introducing Tadami's nature, registered as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, through the lens of beech forests and rivers. Next, head to Lake Tagokura, a large dam lake surrounded by the mountains of Oku-Tadami, where the expanse of water and green mountains is truly spectacular. Beech forests, a dam lake, and a pool, a day for savoring the water and forests of Oku-Aizu.
