2026 Pool Park Misato Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Pool Park Misato in Misato Town, Akita Prefecture, open from Thursday, July 23 to Sunday, August 23, 2026. Besides a 25-meter pool, it has a large kids' pool with a mini water slide and an artificial waterfall, designed to especially captivate young children. Admission per visit is 300 yen for adults, 200 yen for third graders through junior high school students, and free for second graders and under when accompanied by a guardian; 100 yen off with a disability certificate. In the morning, visit the Rokugo Spring Water Cluster (六郷湧水群), selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Waters — walk through the strange, wonderful scenery of clear spring water bubbling up all over town, and be amazed by how cold it is. Next, visit Hottasaku Ruins (払田柵跡), a national historic site where a reconstructed South Gate of the outer palisade stands in a wide field on the site of a Heian-period government office, letting your imagination wander back to ancient Tohoku. After lunch, spend the afternoon at Pool Park Misato — note, though, that it's closed on July 27, August 3, August 13, and August 17. Spend a day overflowing with water in this town known for its springs.
