2026 Matsuyama Jonoyama Leisure Pool Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Matsuyama Jonoyama Leisure Pool, located in Matsuyama Jonoyama General Park in Shibushi City, Kagoshima Prefecture. In a typical year it operates from late July to late August and is closed on Mondays. It's a 25-meter, 6-lane leisure pool equipped with a water slide and a kiddie pool for toddlers, offering water play in the pleasant setting of a hilltop park. In the morning, start at Roadside Station Matsuyama Yacchiku Furusato Mura, where a direct-sales stand of local produce and processed goods lets you experience the bounty of Shibushi's land. Next, head to Yamamiya Shrine in Shibushi, where a giant camphor tree said to be over a thousand years old towers in the grounds — a nationally designated natural monument whose imposing presence is overwhelming just to look up at. Past midday, move to Matsuyama Jonoyama General Park and spend the afternoon on the slide and in the splashing water at Matsuyama Jonoyama Leisure Pool. A day unique to Shibushi, connecting the bounty of the countryside, the power of a giant ancient tree, and a pool.
