2026 Soppu-gawa Yamada Waterside Park River Pool Full-Day Course
This is a one-day course centered on the 'Soppu-gawa Yamada Waterside Park River Pool,' open from Saturday, July 18 through Monday, August 31, 2026, from 9:00 to 17:00. The venue is Yamada Waterside Park on the Soppu River in Miyaki Town, Miyaki District, Saga Prefecture. This river pool draws water directly from the Soppu River as it flows down from the Sefuri mountain range, and its icy-cold current, even at the height of summer, is its pride. Shallow pools about knee-deep are set aside for young children, so even small kids can stand on their own feet and play in the water. The riverside has shaded areas and free parking is available. In the morning, walk the vast grounds of the nationally designated Special Historic Site, the Yoshinogari Ruins; refuel at the roadside station at midday; and enter the river in the afternoon while the sun is still warm for the most comfortable flow. Since there is no on-site attendant and use is at your own risk, guardians must always accompany children while playing. Admission is free, making it a nearby waterside spot you can visit again and again over summer break. In case of sudden rises in water level, please check the day's weather and river conditions before heading out.
