2026 Kawasakyo (河佐峡) River Play Area Full-Day Course
This is a one-day course centered on the Kawasakyo River Play Area, located in a gorge on the upper Ashida River in Moroge-cho, Fuchu City, Hiroshima Prefecture. In 2026, the river-play season runs from the river opening on Saturday, July 18 through the end of August, with no closed days during that period. The facility itself is open year-round, closed on Wednesdays. Located at the foot of Hattabara Dam, the riverbank has a stream shaped from natural rocks, so the current is gentle. Swimming is free to enjoy. There is also a full-length water slide (550 yen per day, July through end of August) and a shallow paddling pool for small children, making it appealing for a full day out regardless of age. It also has a campsite, a park golf course (18 holes), a summer-only shop, a restroom / shower building, and a changing room with lockers. Day camping is 1,100 yen per site (9:00-16:00, up to 10 people), overnight camping is 2,200 yen per site, and hot showers are 100 yen per 3 minutes. In the morning, walk the white-walled streets of Jouge and have lunch at the roadside station. In the afternoon, see the Yume Tsuribashi, the world's longest PC (prestressed concrete) suspension bridge, before heading down to Kawasakyo.
