2026 Autumn Leaves at Kanagawa Prefectural Oiso Joyama Park: A Full-Day Course
Spend a day enjoying the autumn colors of Shonan's Oiso at Kanagawa Prefectural Oiso Joyama Park, built on the former villa grounds of the Mitsui family. The leaves are typically at their best from late November to early December. About 540 maple trees have been planted in the former Mitsui Villa area, and the area around Fudo Pond is especially popular for the way the autumn foliage is reflected on the water. Admission is free, and the paths, while somewhat hilly, are well maintained, making them easy to walk even with children; parking is also available. In the morning, enjoy lunch with a sea view at OISO CONNECT, a multi-purpose facility at Oiso Port, then spend the afternoon fully exploring the autumn leaves. In past years, an illumination lighting up around 150 trees around Fudo Pond has been held in late November (details for 2026 have not yet been announced - please check the official website before you go). This is a quintessential Oiso course that lets you enjoy both the sea and autumn foliage in a single day.
