2026 Full-Day Course: Autumn Leaves at Yokohama Zoological Gardens ZOORASIA
Spend a day enjoying both animals and autumn leaves at Yokohama Zoological Gardens ZOORASIA (よこはま動物園ズーラシア). The best time to see the autumn foliage in the park is usually from November to December. In the 'Japanese Mountain Village' zone, several tree species turn color, letting you take in the autumn scenery alongside Japanese animals such as Asian black bears and Japanese macaques. Admission is 800 yen for adults and 200 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and every Saturday elementary, junior high, and high school students get in free with a student ID or similar, a nice bonus for families. In the morning, get a taste of satoyama autumn at Shiki no Mori Park (県立四季の森公園), within walking distance of the nearest Nakayama Station (中山駅), then head to ZOORASIA by bus in the afternoon. The zoo is open from 9:30 to 16:30 (last admission 16:00), and closed every Tuesday. Zoos tend to bring spring or summer to mind, but ZOORASIA in autumn is less crowded, making it a hidden gem where you can stroll at a relaxed pace amid the fall colors.
