2026 Miyanoshita Autumn Leaves: A Full-Day Course
Spend a day in Miyanoshita (宮ノ下), midway up Mount Hakone, savoring both the charm of a hot spring town and its autumn colors. The leaves are typically at their best from mid to late November, with the color moving down the mountainside from the Gora area to Miyanoshita through early to late November. Step off the Hakone Tozan Railway at Miyanoshita Station (宮ノ下駅) after enjoying the switchback climb, and a retro walk begins along the slope in front of the station and on toward National Route 1, past long-established buildings with a backdrop of autumn-colored mountains. After a break at the foot-bath cafe right by the station, spend the afternoon strolling leisurely through the hot spring town. The charm of this mountain town of Miyanoshita is that the autumn leaves look different each time your viewpoint changes, whether from the train window, atop a slope, or on a bridge. This course keeps its highlights within an easy walking distance, making it manageable even with children.
