2026 Full-Day Course: Autumn Leaves Along Yamashita Park Street (山下公園通り)
Spend a day walking beneath the ginkgo trees that represent autumn in the port town of Yokohama. The leaves along Yamashita Park Street (山下公園通り) are typically at their best from mid-November to early December. The row of ginkgo trees running about 800m from the Kaikou Hiroba-mae intersection (開港広場前交差点) to the Yamashita-bashi intersection (山下橋交差点) turns golden all at once, and since it's a public street lined with trees, you can enjoy it free of charge. Spend the morning food-tasting and having lunch in Yokohama Chinatown (横浜中華街). Once you've filled up, take in the view of the Hikawa Maru (氷川丸) and the harbor at Yamashita Park (山下公園), then head into the afternoon for the ginkgo-lined walk. The golden foliage set against historic buildings is a scene unique to Yokohama, and the flat course is easy to walk even with a stroller. Since the whole trip can be done by train alone, it's an easy outing even with small children.
