2026 Negishi Forest Park Fall Foliage: A Full-Day Enjoyment Course
This is a day to freely enjoy autumn at Negishi Forest Park, spread across a hilltop in Negishi, Yokohama. Built on the former site of Japan's first full-scale Western-style horse racing track, the old Negishi Racecourse, the park's roughly 19-hectare lawn plaza is ringed by zelkova and ginkgo trees that turn brilliant colors. The best viewing season runs long, typically from mid-November through late December, making it easy to visit on a weekend whenever the mood strikes. In the morning, starting from Negishi Station, stop by Negishi Natsukashi Park and the Former Yanagishita Residence, which convey life from the Taisho to early Showa era; in the afternoon, climb the hill to the forest park. This is a classic family picnic course, spreading lunch on the lawn and fully enjoying leaf-collecting and running around.
