2026 Full-Day Course: Autumn Leaves at Yokohama Park (横浜公園)
Spend a day in the Yokohama Kannai area enjoying both the city's autumn atmosphere and the autumn leaves of a Japanese garden all at once. The stage is Yokohama Park (横浜公園), familiar as the home of Yokohama Stadium. The Japanese garden within the park, ‘Higa Garden’ (彼我庭園), is a National Place of Scenic Beauty, where the maples around the pond turn color first, followed by the ginkgo trees, with the best viewing typically running from mid-November to mid-December. In the morning, walk from Kannai Station (関内駅) along the ginkgo-lined Nihon-odori Street (日本大通り), Japan's first Western-style street, then head to seaside Yamashita Park (山下公園). In the afternoon, return to Yokohama Park and enjoy the evening illumination at Higa Garden — an ambitious itinerary packed with sights. The illumination is held every autumn; in 2025 it ran from November 21 to December 14 (please check the official announcement for the 2026 schedule). Admission is free everywhere, and the ease of getting around entirely by train makes this an appealing urban autumn-leaves course.
