2026 Full-Day Course: Autumn Colors at Ikuta Ryokuchi (生田緑地)
This course lets you enjoy a whole day of long-lasting autumn at Ikuta Ryokuchi (生田緑地), Kawasaki City's largest green space. The best viewing period usually runs from mid-November to mid-December. There's plenty to see: the Nomura maples at Nanakusa Pass (七草峠), the Japanese maples at the Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum (日本民家園), the golden dawn redwood grove, and ginkgo trees. Since the maples and dawn redwoods change color at different times, the appeal is that you can enjoy autumn for a long stretch. Admission to the park is free (facilities within the park such as the Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum and the Taro Okamoto Museum of Art charge separate admission). In the morning, learn about nature at the park's free science museum, then in the afternoon head out for an autumn-leaf walk. With well-maintained parking and restrooms, this is a classic suburban autumn course that families with small children can enjoy worry-free for a full day.
