2026 Autumn Leaves at Sagamiko Prefectural Park: A Full-Day Course
Spend a day gazing at the autumn foliage spreading across the surface of Lake Sagami. The leaves are typically at their best from late October through late November, a long viewing season, and from in front of the Boat Plaza at Sagamiko Prefectural Park you can enjoy the autumn scenery woven together by the lake surface and the autumn leaves of Mt. Arashi on the opposite shore. With parking and restrooms well maintained, this lakeside park is easy to enjoy even with children. In the morning, visit Obara-juku Honjin (free admission), the only surviving honjin in Kanagawa Prefecture, near Sagamiko Station, then spend a full afternoon by the lake. Combine it with a boat or sightseeing cruise to view the autumn leaves from the water as well. Easy to reach by train or car, this is a classic autumn course at Lake Sagami.
