2026 Full-Day Autumn Leaves Course at Kanagawa Prefectural Mitsuike Park
Spend a day enjoying autumn colors by the water at Kanagawa Prefectural Mitsuike Park (三ツ池公園) in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama. The best viewing period runs a long stretch, usually from mid-November to late December, as the coppice trees around the three ponds, along with maples and ginkgoes, turn color one after another. Selected as one of Japan's '100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots' and one of the '50 Best Parks in Kanagawa,' the park is also special in autumn. The walking paths around the ponds have some ups and downs, giving kids a bit of an adventurous feel as they walk. In the morning, visit Sojiji Temple (總持寺), the Soto Zen sect's head temple, just a short walk from Tsurumi Station. After strolling the vast temple grounds, spend the afternoon leisurely gazing at the autumn leaves reflected in the ponds — a course that immerses you in nature so rich you'd hardly believe it's right in the middle of Yokohama.
