2026 Autumn Leaves at Kanagawa Prefectural Higashi-Takane Forest Park: A Full-Day Course
Spend a day enjoying the autumn leaves of a nearby forest at Higashi-Takane Forest Park, the only prefectural park in Kawasaki City, located in Miyamae Ward. The leaves are typically at their best from late November to early December. The two Japanese maples near the south entrance turn brilliant red, and the zelkova, spindle tree, and enkianthus also change color; Keyaki Plaza is a highlight even featured in the park's official autumn foliage guide. Admission is free. With a boardwalk through the wetland botanical garden and trails through the Japanese blue oak forest, you can enjoy the feeling of a forest walk right next to the city. In the morning, starting from Mizonokuchi Station, stop by the Kuji Cylindrical Water Divider, a National Tangible Cultural Property completed in 1941, and see the mysterious circular device that divides the water. This course lets you explore the town's history and forest foliage in a single day.
