2026 Autumn Leaves at Kanagawa Prefectural Tsukui-ko Shiroyama Park: A Full-Day Course
Spend a day exploring Kanagawa Prefectural Tsukui-ko Shiroyama Park (神奈川県立津久井湖城山公園), which spreads across both shores of Lake Tsukui and includes Mt. Shiroyama, the site of the Sengoku-era mountain castle 'Tsukui Castle.' In autumn, the changing colors of the trees add vivid hues to the surface of Lake Tsukui, drawing visitors who come to enjoy the autumn leaves. Admission is free, and parking is available. In the morning, enjoy shopping for freshly picked Tsukui-grown vegetables and specialty products at the Tsukui-ko Tourist Center (津久井湖観光センター) in the lakeside Hana-no-Enchi (Flower Garden), and take in the lake views at Mizu-no-Enchi (Water Garden) with its fountain. In the afternoon, head from the Negoya district up to Mt. Shiroyama. This is a course for slowly savoring the autumn air of the satoyama landscape while tracing the remains of the old mountain castle. How far the colors have progressed varies from year to year, so it's a good idea to check the park's official website before heading out.
