2026 Full-Day Autumn Leaves Course at Kanagawa Prefectural Sagamihara Park
Spend a day enjoying autumn at Kanagawa Prefectural Sagamihara Park, where about 100 dawn redwood trees over 30 meters tall line both sides of a French-style garden. The best viewing season is typically from late November to early December. The golden tree-lined avenue is spectacular, and the view from the observation room of the Sakata Seed Greenhouse is also impressive. Admission is free (excluding some paid facilities). In the morning, interact with ponies and small animals at the Fureai Animal Plaza (free admission) in the adjacent Sagamihara Asamizo Park, then in the afternoon, take your time exploring the garden and observation room, with the autumn leaves of the dawn redwood avenue as the highlight. For photography, around 9 AM is also considered a good time, when sunlight hits both sides of the avenue, so families focused on photos may want to walk the avenue first thing in the morning.
