2026 Autumn Leaves at Maioka Park (舞岡公園): A Full One-Day Course
A day to enjoy the satoyama scenery of the yato valley and the coloring of the deciduous woods at Maioka Park (舞岡公園) in Totsuka Ward, Yokohama City. This 28.5-hectare wide-area park retains rice paddies, fields, and a charcoal-making hut, and the deciduous woods surrounding the valley quietly turn color during the autumn season. Within the park, at Koyato no Sato (小谷戸の里), an old farmhouse (the former main house of the Kaneko family residence) has been relocated and restored, letting visitors experience life of the past - one of its charms. Admission is free, and its accessibility on foot from Maioka Station (舞岡駅) on the municipal subway is also a welcome point for families with children. In the morning, stop by Niji no Ie (虹の家) at Maioka Furusato Village (舞岡ふるさと村), and in the afternoon, take a leisurely loop around the park's walking trails. This is a course for savoring the changing seasons at leisure, right next to the city. Note that the peak season for autumn leaves is not officially announced, so please check recent conditions before heading out.
