2026 Autumn Leaves at Hyogihara (Shiroyama Lake): A Full-Day Course
Spend a day enjoying both a mountain walk and autumn leaves at once around Shiroyama Lake in Midori Ward, Sagamihara City. Hyogihara is a maple grove along the hiking course around Shiroyama Lake, typically at its best in late November. It is a place steeped in history, said to be where the warlords of Katakura Castle, Tsukui Castle, and Komatsu Castle once held council. The path overhead covered in maple leaves and underfoot piled with fallen leaves makes for a walk that feels like an adventure even for children. In the morning, enjoy the lake views and flowers at Tsukui Lake Shiroyama Park's Flower Garden by Tsukui Lake, then head up to Shiroyama Lake in the afternoon and aim for the maple grove of Hyogihara. Since you will be walking on mountain paths, wear easy-to-move-in clothing and comfortable walking shoes. This hiking course lets you fully experience mountain autumn close to the city.
