2026 Sagamiko Illumillion: A Full-Day Course
This is a day centered on Sagamiko Illumillion (さがみ湖イルミリオン), one of the three major illumination displays in the Kanto region, held within Sagamiko MORI MORI (さがみ湖MORI MORI) on the shore of Lake Sagami. It typically runs as a long-running event from mid-November through early May the following year; last season it ran from November 15, 2025 to May 10, 2026 (the schedule and pricing for the 2026-27 season have not yet been announced, so please check the official website before you go). Spend the early afternoon relaxing at the prefectural Sagamiko Park (県立相模湖公園) by the lake, stop by Obara-juku Honjin (小原宿本陣), a building preserved from the Edo period, and then head to the illumination venue in the evening. A separate admission fee is required to view the illuminations, and last season there were night-entry tickets and night free-pass options available. Evenings in the mountains get quite cold, so be sure to dress warmly.
