2026 WINTER ILLUMINATION (La Cittadella): A Full-Day Course

This is a day enjoying everything from an aquarium to nighttime illuminations at La Cittadella (ラ チッタデッラ), the entertainment district in front of Kawasaki Station. The Winter Illumination typically runs from mid-November through early February; last season it ran from November 14, 2025 to February 1, 2026, with lights on from 16:30 to 23:00 (the schedule for 2026-27 has not yet been announced - please check the official website before you go). In the early afternoon, tour the world's waterside habitats at Kawasui Kawasaki Aquarium (カワスイ 川崎水族館), just steps from the east exit of Kawasaki Station, then pay a visit to the old shrine Inage Shrine (稲毛神社) on Shiyakusho-dori (市役所通り), before heading to La Cittadella (ラ チッタデッラ) in time for the evening light-up. The combination of cobblestones modeled after an Italian hill town and the illuminations creates an atmosphere hard to believe is right in front of Kawasaki Station. Viewing is free. Winter evenings get cold, so dress warmly before you go.
