2026 Kirara@Art Shin-Yuri Illumination: A Full-Day Course
A day to enjoy 'Kirara@Art Shin-Yuri' (kirara@アートしんゆり), the winter tradition of Shin-Yurigaoka (新百合ヶ丘), the 'town of art'. Around the south and north exits of Odakyu Line Shin-Yurigaoka Station (新百合ヶ丘駅), the olive tree-lined avenue, Maple Street (マプレ), and the trees near the north exit are wrapped in illuminations. It is typically held from mid-November to mid-February; in the previous year it ran from November 15, 2025 to February 14, 2026, with lights on from 17:00 to 24:00 (the 2026-27 schedule and lighting hours have not yet been announced, so please check the official website before heading out). In the early afternoon, play to your heart's content at Manpukuji Oyashiro Park (万福寺おやしろ公園), famous for its roller slide, then take a break at Shin-Yurigaoka Erumi Road (新百合ヶ丘エルミロード) near the station before heading to the station area in time for the 5:00 PM lighting. Viewing is free, and since the lights begin right outside the station, even families with small children can enjoy it without difficulty. Winter evenings get cold, so please dress warmly before heading out.
