2026 Kurihama Flower Garden Winter Illumination: A Full One-Day Course

A day to enjoy the winter illumination at Kurihama Flower Garden (くりはま花の国), spread across the hills of Kurihama in Yokosuka. It's usually held from early December to mid-January; last year (2025-26), the plaza in front of the Poppy and Cosmos Garden was wrapped in light from December 6, 2025 to January 12, 2026. In past years the lights were on from 17:00 to 20:00 (the 2026-27 schedule and lighting hours have not yet been announced, so please check the official website before you go). Admission and viewing are free, and there is a parking lot. In the early afternoon, touch on history at Perry Park (ペリー公園), the site where Commodore Perry landed, then play to your heart's content at the Adventure Land with its famous Godzilla slide before waiting for the evening lighting. It gets cold on the hilltop after sunset, so make sure to dress warmly.
