2026 Christmas Lantern Festa (Ushioda Park) Full-Day Course

A warm festival at Ushioda Park in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama, where local handmade lanterns light up the park at night. It's held for just one Saturday in mid-December each year, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Last year it was held on December 13, 2025 (postponed to the following Sunday in case of rain or strong wind; the 2026 schedule has not been announced yet, so please check the organizer's announcement before heading out). Admission is free and you can come and go freely, so it's easy to drop by even with young children. In the early afternoon, stroll through the spacious grounds of Sojiji Temple, a renowned temple in Tsurumi, then get some exercise at Irifune Park, which has a range of play equipment, before heading to Ushioda Park in the evening where the lanterns are lit. It's a night that feels different from large-scale illuminations, with a warmth that comes from the local community's handiwork. Winter nights in the park get cold, so dress warmly.
