2026 Kurihama Shopping Street Illumination: A Full-Day Course

A day to enjoy the illuminations lighting up the station-front shopping street in Kurihama, Yokosuka. Harodo Street and Kurofune Nakadori in front of Keikyu Kurihama Station are decorated with lights, and admission is free. Last year, the lights began in late November 2025 (the end date is unconfirmed, and the 2026-27 schedule has not yet been announced, so please check official sources). In the early afternoon, head to Kurihama Flower Park, which has free admission. Play to your heart's content on the famous 8.75-meter Godzilla slide and playground equipment. After that, move to Perry Park near Kurihama Beach for a bit of social studies sightseeing at the free Perry Memorial Hall, learning about the history of the Black Ships' arrival. In the evening, return to the station area and stroll through the illuminated shopping street while looking for a place for dinner. Winter evenings get cold, so please dress warmly.
