2026 Kitakurihama Shopping Street Illumination: A Full-Day Course

A day to enjoy the illumination lit by the local shopping street around the roundabout in front of Kitakurihama Station in Yokosuka City. It typically lights up from late November each year (last year: from late November 2025; the end date and the schedule for the 2026-27 season have not yet been announced, so please check the official website before you go). Admission is free. In the early afternoon, walk to Negishi Park (Traffic Park), where you can ride a bicycle or tricycle along a course with traffic signals and signs and have fun learning traffic rules, then head to the station-front roundabout in the evening. The warm light lit by the local shopping street is a different experience from large-scale illuminations, a beloved winter tradition of the town. Winter evenings get cold, so please dress warmly before heading out.
