2026 Okagawa Art Project 'Promenade of Light' (Maita Park) Full-Day Course
A day enjoying the Okagawa Art Project 'Promenade of Light,' held at Maita Park in Minami Ward, Yokohama. It typically takes place over just two days on a weekend in early to mid December (last year: December 6-7, 2025. The 2026 dates and lighting times have not yet been announced, so please check the official website before heading out). Admission is free. In the early afternoon, take the subway two stops to Gumyoji. Enjoy food-hopping and visiting Gumyoji Kannon (弘明寺観音), Yokohama's oldest temple, along with the arcade shopping street leading to its gate. In the evening, move on to Maita Park to admire the handmade light art that lights up as the sun sets. Unlike large-scale illuminations, its charm lies in the warmth typical of a community art event. Winter evenings can get cold, so be sure to dress warmly.
