2026 Yamate Italian Hill Garden Candle Garden - Full-Day Course

Spend a day enjoying a one-night-only candle garden held at Italian Hill Garden in Yamate, Yokohama. It is typically held for a single night in late December, from sunset until 19:00 (last year: December 20, 2025; postponed to the next day in case of severe weather. The 2026 date has not yet been announced, so please check the official website before heading out). Admission is free. In the early afternoon, head from Ishikawacho Station to Yokohama Motomachi Shopping Street. Enjoy shopping and food stalls along this 600-meter-long street, which has grown alongside the port's history since it opened. In the afternoon, climb the slope to Italian Hill Garden. The Diplomat's House and Bluff No. 18 are free to enter, and the Christmas decorations in the Western-style buildings are a highlight. As the sun sets, countless candles are lit throughout the garden, wrapping the winter night in the glow of the mansions and flickering flames.
