2026 Hinodecho Light-Up - Full-Day Course

Spend a day walking from Noge to Hinodecho, centered around the 'Hinodecho Light-Up' that illuminates the banks of the Ooka River in Yokohama. It is typically held from late December to mid-January (the 2025-26 season ran from December 20 to January 11); the 2026-27 schedule has not yet been announced, so please check the official website before heading out. In the early afternoon, meet the animals at the free-admission Nogeyama Zoo, then pass through Isezaki Mall, one of Yokohama's oldest shopping streets, before heading to the Ooka River in the evening. The riverside from Asahi Bridge (Sakura Pier) to Choja Bridge is bathed in light, and the reflections on the water's surface will lift your spirits just by walking along. Viewing is free. It gets cold along the winter riverside, so be sure to dress warmly.
