2026 Nihon-odori (日本大通り) SDGs Illumination: A Full-Day Course

Centered on the 'Nihon-odori SDGs Illumination,' where Yokohama's historic tree-lined avenue Nihon-odori (日本大通り) is wrapped in light, this is a day spent walking through Yokohama's classic areas from Yamashita Park (山下公園) to Chinatown (中華街). It is usually held from late November through December 25 (in 2025, from November 21 to December 25); as the 2026-27 season dates have not yet been announced, please check the official website before visiting. Viewing is free. Spend a relaxed early afternoon at Yamashita Park (山下公園) overlooking the sea, enjoy a food walk in Yokohama Chinatown (横浜中華街), then head to Nihon-odori (日本大通り) in the evening. The avenue, where the gingko trees and historic buildings are lit up, is picture-perfect just by walking through it. Sea breezes turn chilly on winter evenings, so dress warmly.
