2026 Yokohama Porta Illumination: A Full Day of Fun

This is a day to enjoy the 'Yokohama Porta Illumination' (横浜ポルタ ライトアップ), where the central staircase of Yokohama Porta (横浜ポルタ), the underground mall directly connected to Yokohama Station's east exit, is wrapped in light, together with other popular spots around Yokohama Station. It typically runs from mid-November to late February each year (in 2025-26 it ran from November 15 to February 20), a long season, and the 2026-27 schedule has not yet been announced, so please check the official website before heading out. Admission is free. In the early afternoon, take in the huge diorama at the Hara Model Railway Museum, known for its world-class collection, then get an up-close look at cars at the free-admission Nissan Global Headquarters Gallery, and head to Porta in the evening.
