2026 Full-Day Course: Yokosuka Winter Illumination (Verny Park)

Spend a day enjoying the Yokosuka Winter Illumination, where the harborside of Verny Park (ヴェルニー公園) in Yokosuka is wrapped in light. It typically runs from late October to early January (last year it ran from October 31, 2025 to January 4, 2026); the schedule for the 2026-27 season has not yet been announced, so please check the official website. In the early afternoon, stroll through Mikasa Park (三笠公園), home to the Memorial Ship Mikasa, then enjoy local food and shopping on Dobuita Street (どぶ板通り), the birthplace of the sukajan jacket. In the evening, head over to the Shioiri side to Verny Park and walk the lit-up promenade while taking in the harbor views. Admission is free. It gets cold at night by the sea, so dress warmly.
