2026 Hakone Glass Forest Museum Crystal Tree 'Abete': A Full Day of Fun

This is a day for seeing the Crystal Tree 'Abete', which appears at the Hakone Glass Forest Museum (箱根ガラスの森美術館) in Sengokuhara, Hakone. The crystal glass tree towering at the center of the garden sparkles in the sunlight by day, and transforms into an enchanting sight quite different from daytime in the evening. The exhibit usually runs from early November to mid-January, and in 2025-26 it ran from November 1, 2025 to January 12, 2026 (the 2026-27 schedule and lighting hours have not yet been announced, so please check the official website before heading out). Admission is 1,800 yen for adults, 1,300 yen for university and high school students, and 600 yen for elementary and junior high school students. In the early afternoon, enjoy a golden stroll through the Sengokuhara Silver Grass Field (仙石原すすき草原) at its peak, then head straight to the museum. It is open until 17:30 (last entry at 17:00), so you'll take in the evening glow in the time before closing. Hakone gets cold in November, so don't forget to dress warmly.
