2026 Miyagase Christmas Gathering for Everyone: A Full-Day Course

A course for enjoying 'Miyagase Christmas Gathering for Everyone,' a winter tradition on the shores of Lake Miyagase, over the course of a full day. The venue is the Miyagase Mizu-no-Sato Promenade and the Miyagase lakeside park in Kiyokawa Village; admission is free (crossing the Mizu-no-Sato suspension bridge costs 500 yen for junior high school age and up, and is free for elementary school age and under; the balloon ride experience is paid and reservation-only). It is usually held from late November through December 25, and the 39th edition ran from November 22 to December 25, 2025 (the 2026-27 dates and lighting times have not yet been announced, so please check the village's official announcement before heading out). In the early afternoon, pet sheep and goats at Hattori Farm in Aikawa Town and enjoy some relaxed farm time. In the evening, move to the shore of Lake Miyagase, pick up souvenirs and fill up on food at the Mizu-no-Sato shopping street, and then, as night falls, admire the illuminated fir-tree Christmas tree and the promenade of lights. Nights in the mountains get cold, so be sure to dress warmly.
