2026 Hakone-en Aquarium Full-Day Course

This course lets you savor a full day by the lake at Hakone-en Aquarium (箱根園水族館), which stands on the shore of high-altitude Lake Ashi. Open 9:00-16:30 (last entry 16:00; hours vary by season), every day of the year. Admission is 1,600 yen for adults (junior high school age and up) and 800 yen for children (age 4 through elementary school). With parking and restrooms available, it is a worry-free family outing by car. In the morning, visit Hakone Shrine (箱根神社) on the southern shore of Lake Ashi and walk the cedar-lined approach past the torii gate standing in the lake. In the afternoon, drive along the lakeshore to Hakone-en (箱根園). Enjoy the scenery of Lake Ashi, then spend plenty of time with the fish at the aquarium. It is a greedy, do-it-all day that lets you taste autumn Hakone air, the lake, and the aquarium all at once.
