2026 Full-Day Course: Starry Skies at Yabitsu Pass and Nanohanadai
This is a day to enjoy the starry sky at Nanohanadai (菜の花台), located partway along the pass road leading to Yabitsu Pass (ヤビツ峠) from Hadano, the gateway to the Tanzawa mountains. Nanohanadai is a highland spot with views over the town of Hadano and toward Sagami Bay, and being away from city lights, the stars overhead are clearly visible on a clear night. Parking is free at both Nanohanadai (23 spaces) and Yabitsu Pass (24 spaces), and restrooms are available. In the afternoon, enjoy the Tanzawa mountain scenery from the Wind Suspension Bridge (風の吊り橋) at Hadano Togawa Prefectural Park (県立秦野戸川公園), then visit Izumo Taisha Sagami Bunshi (出雲大社相模分祠), affectionately known as Izumo-san of Kanto, before heading up the pass road as dusk falls. From around 18:30 to 20:30, the family climax is gazing up at the night sky together. The pass road is a winding mountain road, so it is reassuring to scout it once while it is still light before heading up.
