2026 Full-Day Course: An Old Farmhouse Stroll at Shinbayashi Park (新林公園) (Former Fukuhara Family Nagayamon Gate / Former Koike Residence)

Spend a relaxing day enjoying the green valley and old farmhouses at Shinbayashi Park (新林公園), a satoyama countryside park within walking distance of Fujisawa Station (藤沢駅). The park is open at all times (excluding the old farmhouse and gate) and admission is free. The Former Koike Residence (旧小池邸) and the Former Fukuhara Family Nagayamon Gate (旧福原家長屋門), relocated within the park, can be viewed year-round from 9:00 to 16:30 (closed Mondays, or the following day if a public holiday; closed December 29-January 3). For children, the earthen floor and veranda of the thatched-roof old farmhouse are their very first glimpse of a 《house from long ago》. Combined with the satoyama nature trail, it's a day off that lets both body and mind unwind. In the morning, visit Yugyoji Temple (遊行寺), the head temple of the Ji-shu sect, before heading over - a course that connects Fujisawa's history and nature. Parking and restrooms are also available.
