A 2026 Full-Day Course Spent at Yokohama Central Library (Nogeyama Children's Library, Parent-Child Floor)
A day of settling in with books at Yokohama Central Library, which stands on the hill of Nogeyama in Yokohama. The Central Library has the Parent-Child Floor of the Nogeyama Children's Library, a space where you take off your shoes and can spread out picture books together with your child. The Parent-Child Floor is open from 9:30 to 17:00. In the morning, meet the animals right next door at Nogeyama Zoological Gardens (free admission), and after lunch move on to book time at the library in the afternoon. The flow of the day, checking the giraffes and red pandas you saw at the zoo in reference books and picture books, naturally draws out a child's curiosity to know more. The route climbing the slopes of Noge from Sakuragicho Station also lets you enjoy the changing scenery from Yokohama's downtown to the hill. The library is closed on facility inspection days (once a month), during the special book-organizing period, and over the New Year holidays, so please check the official website before heading out.
