2026 Full-Day Course Spent at Sagamihara City Sagami-Ono Library (相模原市立相模大野図書館)

This is a day for parents and children to immerse themselves in books at Sagamihara City Sagami-Ono Library (相模原市立相模大野図書館), within walking distance of Sagami-Ono Station (相模大野駅). The star of this library is the 4th-floor children's book floor, an entire level dedicated to children's books, where kids can walk the shelves themselves and choose everything from picture books to children's literature and reference books. Opening hours are 9:30-20:00 Tuesday through Friday (the children's book floor closes at 18:00), and 9:30-18:00 on weekends and holidays. In the morning, head to Sagami-Ono Central Park (相模大野中央公園), right by the library. Themed around flowers, water, and greenery, the park lets you relax around its flower beds, lawn plaza, and pond. After getting plenty of exercise in the park, spend a leisurely afternoon with books at the library. Since the park and library are within a short walk of each other, this course is easy on families with small children in terms of moving around. The library is closed on Mondays (open if a Monday is a public holiday, closed the following day instead), the second Thursday of the month (except in January and April), the New Year holidays (December 29 to January 4), and during its collection inspection period (April 5-11).
