2026 Tamura Orchard (田村果樹園) Fruit-Picking Full-Day Course
Spend a day picking fruit in the middle of the city at Tamura Orchard (田村果樹園) in Nakanoshima, Tama Ward, Kawasaki City. The season usually runs from the last weekend of August to mid-to-late September (timing shifts depending on growing conditions). Admission is free, and you pay for what you harvest. The price is the same across all varieties, 1,100 yen per kilogram (roughly 400 yen per piece), which makes it easy to understand. Restrooms are available on-site. In the morning, visit the Kawasaki City Greening Center (川崎市緑化センター), a free botanical garden along the Nikaryo Yosui (二ヶ領用水) canal, and take your time enjoying the greenhouse and seasonal flower display gardens. After lunch, take the JR Nanbu Line to Nakanoshima and pick fruit yourself at an orchard tucked into a residential neighborhood. It's a late-summer day where you can experience the bounty of the earth just a short trip from central Tokyo. Please check the official website before heading out for the current opening status.
