2026 Mount Bukka (仏果山) Cool Stroll: A Full-Day Enjoyment Course
This is a one-day course through Aikawa Town and Kiyokawa Village that combines two kinds of coolness: soft-serve ice cream at a farm and a shaded mountain trail. The climax, Mount Bukka (仏果山), rises 747 meters east of Lake Miyagase (宮ヶ瀬湖). Most of the trail passes through shaded woodland, and the breeze grows cooler as you gain elevation, making it appealingly easy to walk even in September and October, when global warming keeps the heat going. From the observation tower at the summit, a grand panorama spreads out over Lake Miyagase (宮ヶ瀬湖), the mountains of Tanzawa (丹沢), and as far as the Kanto Plain (関東平野) in the distance. The trail is open to hike freely and has restrooms, and the mountain is well loved as a beginner-friendly peak in eastern Tanzawa (東丹沢). In the morning, meet the animals at the free-admission Hattori Farm (服部牧場) and warm up in the plaza of Kanagawa Prefectural Aikawa Park (県立あいかわ公園). This is a course for families who want to get moving and find coolness in the green of the mountains.
