2026 Full-Day Cool Stroll Course: Hinata Valley
This is a day to enjoy the cool air of the mountain stream and river play at Hinata Valley (日向渓谷), which flows through the mountains of Isehara City. Deeply carved into the east side of Mount Oyama, the Hinata valley is covered with clear streams and green trees, and its riverside stays pleasantly cool not only in midsummer but also in September and October when the heat lingers. At the valley's trout fishing area, you can enjoy stream fishing and pond fishing, fish-catching by hand which is popular with children, and barbecue. The trout fishing area is open 8:00-17:00 and operates without holidays from April to October (last reception is 15:00 for stream fishing, 16:00 for pond fishing, and 14:00 for barbecue). Fees are: stream fishing fee is 3,700 yen per person per day for rainbow trout, and 4,300 yen for char/yamame trout; pond fishing is 500 yen per fish (minimum 3 fish); fish-catching by hand is 500 yen per fish (minimum 5 fish); barbecue admission is 1,000 yen for junior high school students and up (1,200 yen in high season) and 600 yen for ages 3 through elementary school students, with rod rental at 350 yen. Parking is also available. This course visits the ancient temple Hinata Yakushi (日向薬師), which carries a 1,300-year history, in the morning, and spends the hot afternoon hours in the coolness of the valley.
